  • You cannot achieve good health without good digestion.

  • Your digestive system has some of the most important functions in your whole body.

  • If your body cannot properly digest and absorb nutrients and properly eliminate waste products, then achieving ideal optimal health may not be obtainable.

  • You gastrointestinal system comprises 75% of the body’s immune system

  • There are more neurons in the small intestine than in the entire spinal cord

  • It is the only system in the body that has its own, independently operating nervous system, called the enteric nervous system.

  • The GI system has the surface area of a regulation sized singles tennis court if it were to be stretched out.

  • Our gut microbiota or "gut flora" contains tens of trillions of microorganisms, including at least 1000 different species of known bacteria.

We will partner with you and your physician, as appropriate, to support the function of your gastrointestinal system.  We understand that your optimal health starts here.  A nutritionally based program individualized to your specific needs will be developed and implemented. Integrative Health Management Team will complete a comprehensive assessment as well as a general nutritional assessment.

Integrative Health Management clients who come to us with gastrointestinal disease and GI symptoms may modify their diet in order to relieve symptoms as well as offering information to the nurse to develop an individualized plan. It's important for you to understand that self imposed dietary changes, or diet plans recommended by others without sufficient knowledge of the disease process, have the potential for causing nutritional deficiencies. Your nurse wellness coach and nutritionist, collaborating with your physician, will support you with a safe nutritional program that focuses on the "Whole Person".
